'Better Off Now' by Pillar

The song "Better Off Now" is by a Christian rock band called Pillar. Pillar has 6 albums out and "Better Off Now" is off their latest album Confessions. They released their first album in 1999. This song definately has a lot of meaning. I think it means that a person is stuck in a rut and feels really down in life. They were feeling low in life and weren't living right and then they found God. Which is probably the reason the song is called "Better Off Now". And when they found God and had Him in their life, they knew they were better off and life would be better with God in it.

Doin' My Thing by Luke Bryan

The song I chose this week is called 'Doin' My Thing' by Luke Bryan. He is a country artist. He has two albums: 'I'll Stay Me' and his current one 'Doin' My Thing' which is where I got that song from. His second album came out in 2009 and his first album came out in 2007. I listened to the song for the first time not too long ago and loved it. To me, it's one of those songs where I could be having a really bad day but when I listen to that song it automatically puts me in a good mood. I think this song could put anyone in a good mood. The song also reminds me of when you just look up at the sun and you're smiling and you say 'today is a good day!' It's also a song that makes you love life because it's just a song that gets you to see that life is going good and you have to focus on that once in a while.

Would It Matter by Skillet

Skillet is one of my favorite bands. Their songs always make sense to life. 'Would It Matter' is one of those songs that makes sense to life.  The song means to me that he's sinned and knows he's done wrong and wants to be a better. He's trying to ask for God's forgiveness and doesn't think he'll get it because he's done wrong. He's also looking at life and wondering what everyone would think if he was gone. Anyone can relate to this song because sometimes everyone has bad days or does something wrong and doesn't want to live with the regret of doing it anymore.

Introduction

In the future of this blog, I am going to be blogging about songs I like. I chose the topic of my blog because I love music and listen to it quite frequently. I am qualified to write about this topic because I listen to almost every type of music and I am in band and used to be in choir which is part of the reason why I love music so much. The genres of most of the songs that I blog about will probably be Christian rock and country and maybe a couple others that are similar to those genres.
